Zagreb is the capital city, and even though it still hasn’t reached one million, there lives a quarter of Croatian population. In some countries it is even known for the cartoon series ‘’Professor Balthazar’’. Its most visited touristic attraction if the city square Ban Josip Jelacic. Nearby is the famous Dolac market and Zagreb’s funicular, which is considered the shortest funicular in the world intended for public transport. A favourite tourist spot to have a break from all the asphalt scenery is the Lenucijeva potkova, which is made out of 7 squares…no wonder that Zagreb was declared the best Christmas destination in Europe in 2015.
